Additional Learning Needs

The Additional Learning Needs (ALN) of our students at Catch22 Include Wales are supported by the wider Catch22 family. Our SENCO leads in Catch22 have supported identifying and developing resources to meet the needs of our learners.

We define pupils with ALN as those who have: 'a learning difficulty or disability (whether the learning difficulty or disability arises from a medical condition or otherwise) which calls for additional learning provision' (The Additional Learning Needs Code for Wales 2021). These difficulties may be physical, emotional, psychological, medical.

Catch22 is committed to supporting pupils and helping them to develop the skills they need to progress to the next stage of their life and learning. This is achieved through identification of need and providing appropriate support in areas and at a pace, which is unique to the pupils, whilst maintaining an inclusive philosophy.
